My 2014 Chrysler 200 S makes a knock noise when I turn the heater/ac on. it is just one knock, not clicking. It sounds like it is coming from the passenger side.
Also today, with the AC on, I noticed smoke coming from the vents. It wasn't a lot, but enough make me worry, so I shut the AC off.
Has anyone else had a problem like this, and if so, what was the solution?
There was no burning smell. It was not humid at all on this particular day.
It has been doing the Knock noise for a few weeks, but the smoking just started yesterday. I see that these cars tend to have heater core issues. I was thinking maybe that is the issue.
Sorry to hear about this! If you decide to visit your local dealership for further diagnosis I'd be happy to assist if needed. Just PM our page with your VIN and let me know.
Most dealers require an appointment.
Has the smoke/mist reappeared ? Does it do this each time you turn on the A/C ?
If not, then I wouldn't have an inspection done.
The noise may be a completely unrelated. Possibly a blend door or actuator movement.
