Buying a car for some is like buying a toaster. For my wife and I it gets emotional. I believe for most of the people on this forum it was emotional but I am sure other reasons are among us. We chose to buy a USA brand label. Limited the field but we stuck to it and we are very happy we did. Granted it is a world stage. Contenders [not really] were Ford Fusion and Chevy Malibu. The Fusion was confusion and the Chevy was a Malibooboo. My wife loves the 200S plain and simple. Her criteria is heated seats, sun roof, leather, visor mirrors that light up, climate control, power seats [we miss the driver memory seat in the 300M] and red paint. I was attracted to the power of the V6, most excellent steering wheel in a very nice interior and sheet metal with over all good looks. We opted for a red 200S. There never really was a second choice.

I would like to have my leather soft and supple, are there any products that are good with Chrysler leather?

Hey everyone. The local track had its first open track day finally for the year this weekend. I ran my 2011 200 S to see what it would do.

Mods: 1) Mopar CAI 2)Corsa/Mopar cat back exhaust 3)Cooper Zeon RS3-A ultra high performance all-season tires (P225/45R18)

The temp was a little warm (approx 75 track temp) w/ little to no wind. I made the stupid mistake of filling about a 1/4 tank of fuel that morning w/ 91 octane but that was 10% ethanol blend before I realized it. In Minnesota all fuel is automatically 10% blend and I forgot to fill up across the river in Fargo, ND like I had planned but I was running late and forgot.

After several disappointing runs hovering around the 15 second mark, my best run was 14.55 @ 96mph. A little disappointing considering what drskol did, but I was 25 degrees warmer than when he ran. Maybe that was the difference? Or ethanol? The launch felt great. Here are the raw #'s

R/T- 0.60812
60' - 2.246
330' - 6.132
660' - 9.35
1/8 mile mph - 75.57
990' - 12.10
1320' - 14.55665
1/4 mph - 95.99

Of all my runs my best 60' time was 2.378.

I ran in auto mode, t/c off. Most of the time I spun too much going balls out on the launch. I tried modulating for the first couple seconds a few times and got a better launch, but the times suffered. My best run I smoked the tires hard before launching and only got a couple chirps off the launch.

I had a buddy record this last best run w/ his phone but the video is awful and not very in focus, but here is the link for you anyway. Next time I will prepare for media a bit better :)

I haven't been able to find this in the owner manual but when you push the turn signal (or multifunctional lever) to illuminate the high beams or pull to flash them, has anyone noticed it puts a tilt on the bulb and it creates a clunking sound which I presume is a cable tilting the headlight.

I first heard this noise when the car was off. I pulled the lever to shine the brights and heard the "clunking" noise it makes. I thought I had found something wrong but it makes sense. I had a friend look as I pulled the lever and it tilts the bulb up. The only thing I can figure it's to not blind oncoming traffic.

Someone please tell me its normal.

Hey everyone,

Hey everyone,

So with some liquid courage by my side last night, I decided to pull the chrome 200s off the C pillars. They popped off very easy and didnt leave behind much residue, but the sun has already done damage and I can see the outline of the 200 very faintly. I think the two pieces on the C pillar look very tacky with that gloss black finish, and I can't understand why they aren't painted. They have already started fading and its only going to get worse from here on out.

It looks like they are just taped on the pillars. Has anyone tried removing them? I'm in a dilemma because I dont want to try pealing them off and then risk breaking them without having backups on hand. The problem is new ones look to be about $100+ for the 4 pieces I would get painted. I would rather just peal these off, prep them, and send them off to the body shop to get professionally sprayed. Can anyone confirm how these are attached to the body?

On a side note, speaking of removing things; if youve looked behind the rear doors right in front of the rear tires, there are 2 protective pieces of clear plastic on each side. These are very easy to remove if you're wondering. I find them to be pointless and wanted to get them removed before the weather got to them. Just get a fingernail behind them and pull, and use something such as gasoline to remove the adhesive. This same protective plastic can be found on the bottom of the doors as well.
