    Default Chrome EXT Trim

I have a 15 200C. The chrome trim around the exterior is not appealing to me with the black paint. I have been looking for ways to convert to black trim similar to the 200S. The only options I have found are Plasti-dip or wrap the trim. Plasti-dip is not an option for me due to preference so I am hoping someone has some additional tips or options to add to wrapping the chrome. Thanks in advance!

I wrapped mine with blackout vinyl with my uncle who is a window tinter, it took about 2 hours and we had to use many pieces to cover all the chrome curves. It doesnt look too pretty up close with overlap lines everywhere, but from a distance it looks good. The chrome trims is wayyy too curvy in my opinion to wrap it with any kind of vinyl. Im going to redo them this summer and paint all the trim black in my booth. Painting them is the best way to go IMO.

Thanks for the information. I was trying to avoid having to remove them as I tend to break stuff, but I’m equally bad at painting outside.

I love the chrome trim on the C!! (thats me though, too each his own). Almost went w the S but didnt like the black trim and blue trim in the interior. Vinyl wrap sounds like the way too go. Junkyard moldings might be easier. Good luck!

I LOVED the black trim of the S but I HATED the Ambassador Blue. The Chrome is a fingerprint magnet and the tailpipe decorative pieces in the back is turning brown as the chrome is coming off. I am planning on either replacing them or just removing them and putting custom tips in space. The only difficulty I am running into, is focusing on one project before starting another. Appearance vs Performance. Been working on them both and now I am near the end of the cheaper options. I have been looking for the trim and local Pick and Pulls but another issue I am running into is, I can only find videos on how to remove the trim for the 300 not the 200. I really don't want to use my car as the tester even though the trim is starting to come off anyway.

I agree totally. Some designer went nuts with the level of chrome on the 200. My car is silver. I used semi gloss black plasticote and blackened all my chrome about a year back. I have been very happy with the results.
