    Question high performance alternator!?

Hey guys I'm ripping out my system I have now which is 1000 watts to two Boston 12's. I have an optima yellow top and have no voltage issues. I'm buying a dc xl 12 with a 2000 watt amp. Our 160 alt. Are great in the s models but I need a bigger alternator. Anyway know of any bolt on 250 amp???

Just curious why would you want a bigger alternator. You can get a audio compacitor to help out if you don't already have one.

A capacitor doesn't make power it just stores it. I need a larger alternator to for a 2000 watt dc audio 12. Something about 230 amps and up

If you go to a bigger alternator, then you would have to change your wiring harness.I worked on Police cars,at the time they had 100amps,and handled all the lights, radio equipment with no problems, the 160 amp should have no problem.

Well given that most of those lights are LEDs, they probably didn't draw all that much. Unless you're talking a long time ago. I still think 160amp is sufficient though.

You can go to a starter/ alternator shop and they will build you one.
