Aha. I don't know, either, but my wife's 2012, which she bought new, has had the left side buttons sticking (failing to respond) for a couple of years now. Takes many tries before they work. In the 2011 I bought last fall, no issues. Wonder if 2012 was a problem? Reset is the only one that works all the time, and the right side always works.

The display button for toggling to mpg, tire pressure, etc. often doesn't work the first time (2011). I just keep at and eventually it does.

They are probably not serviceable, probably have to replace the wheel.
