Welcome to the forum. The following are for a different radio, but first you want to make sure that the faceplate bezel isn't warped or misaligned and pressing against a corner of the touchscreen (it would be like a 2nd finger touch).
You should be able to slide a 'double thickness' of business cards all the way around between the screen & the bezel to measure the gap.
Loosen the faceplate screws to adjust as necessary.
Some aftermarket touchscreen protector laminates may interfere with tactile inputs.
Mopar sells one.
The RA* radios have a touchscreen calibration feature. I don't know if the older radios have this.
