I bought my son a 2012. It was summer when we got it. Everything seemed to be fine. After getting it home I noticed that the AC ran nonstop, even when turned off. I got to checking under the hood and found a wire running from the back of the ac compressor, spliced into the green wire, I think it’s the low pressure sensor, to the fuse box. It’s direct wired to stay on all the time even when you push the off button on the climate control. Why would they have done that? Maybe climate control on/off bad so they bypassed it? What else should I check?

Welcome to the forums. I would put the circuit back the way it is supposed to be and then diagnose the problem properly from the beginning.
Who knows what they were thinking? You may find out that the A/C clutch circuit was bypassed for a cheap fix or that they really didn't want to spend the time to do it right?
