My sons car is throwing code P0420. After research on line the most common cause is an unmetered air leak. So I crawl under the car checking for an air leak and “Drum roll please” there’s no catalytic Converter. Seriously, the previous owner must have had it removed and I didn’t even think to look to see if it was on there when I bought it a year ago. That’s just not something people around here do. If it goes bad the just leave it. Arkansas doesn’t have exhaust state inspections so what’s the point? Anyway my question is there a way of turning off the check engine light without the catalytic converter being on?
