Drivetrain noise when easing on the throttle during excessive wheel spin

I drive a 2016 3.6 FWD and when in S meode and experiencing excessive wheel spin through 2nd gear, easing on the throttle can cause a substantial thunking/clunking sound in the drivetrain. Has anybody experienced this? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hem, "S" mode rides the car (driver too) a little rougher narrowing shifting times.

The 9 speed trans has two dog clutches, what you may be feeling is a combination between nexen dookie tires

(if not changed, i sure as **** changed them dookie tires off my car)

And the 1st dog clutch thats timed to catch instead of sliding into the next gear thats into the 2to3 gear and 3rd to 4th gear change. You may be feeling that jerk and hearing a sound from the catch.

I was weary about it as well i made sure to get the updated trans software from the dealership because my car is a 15'.

You can notice the 2nd dog clutch later in the band around 7th gear the downshift to 6th or the shift up to the 8th gear.

There will be some prolonged sift or a extra noise when shifting around 3rd and the 7th gear to the 200s 9speed trans.

This is only a speculation of what i encountered.

I believe he may be talking about the 1-2 shift under hard acceleration. I get a huge bang when I launch hard, have wheel spin (s mode, etc off)…when it shifts from 1st to second. I had a similar problem on my Focus. Was the engine shifting so much it made the exhaust smack the bottom of the car. I installed a poly dog bone and it stopped. I tried the same thing on this car and it still does it. But the bang is from the engine bay/firewall. I believe it's the engine mounts. At some point I'm going to poly fill the other two. Believe it will stop at that point.

And btw, in Auto mode under 40 mph, when I smash the gas and it down shifts I have zero traction...under 40mph. While in manual s mode.... I gain a tad more traction since it doesn't downshift slam.... cause I'm already in the correct gear.

Sounds like an engine mount issue i juuuust got done doin a job to an old hatch back honda boys engine mount was entirely gone. (Ricer thought his vtec was going hyperspace mode) lol

Could be possible that the engine mount is gone but people that push these 2015+ 200s are going to notice the dog clutches. Thats why i am just speculating.

Nexen tires are dookie slip can be because of them, i got a higher rated Y rate tire and i stick to the ground.

Yeah that same damm loud azz Thunk/Clunk happened to me when I launched from dead stop and hit 30+ Mph and quickly let off accelerator when car in from of me jammed their brakes on after launching quick too and I in turn jammed accelerator and whipped ‘er to the left and around other car and hightailed it outta there pissed and also worried I broke something by the sound of it. But apparently it was my exhaust thumping the bottom of car upon rapid accel and rapid deceleration all in a very short burst.
