2013 / 200 / 2.4L Just Shy of 100,000km.. My Son on his way into work this morning had the Traction Control Dash Light Flash On / Off Immediately Followed by the Electronic Throttle Control Dash Light Flash On / Off as well along with the Throttle hesitating a couple times.. He pulled over and the RPM climbed to 1500 a couple times, he shutdown and restarted.. He was able to make it into work with the ETC light flash a couple times... Could this be a simple fix or maybe something that could be Costly ??? The Car has always preformed flawlessly..

Probably needs a throttle body, see it pretty often.

First, the vehicle must be scanned for fault codes stored in the system. Those codes will indicate what may be causing the warning lights to flash. There are a few sensors that may cause your problem, such as a MAP or TPS sensors. But you must get the codes first to determine where to go next. The flow of information the ECM receives is a starting point. Can't guess which sensor is causing a problem, it must be diagnosed and each fault code eliminated until you find the actual problem.
Starting point, have the system scanned for faults.

You might be able to get the codes by the famous Chrysler "key dance". Key on (not to the start position), key off, key on, key off, key on. On my 2012 the code appears in the odometer.

The combination of multiple warning lights simultaneously might point toward a voltage issue (if you're lucky). Could be a battery or battery connection, but that is a only a guess on my part.

As I ask what the Car is doing and of course call the Deslership asking them to Break It To Me Gently .. Yes the Car has to be Plugged into a Computer to scan the Codes.. @ Dale_K .. You say Voltage Issue, One other thing my Son mentioned with the 4 Ways On the Interior Lights go Dim ??

Do you still have the original battery ? That is starting to sound more like your problem, with the interior lights dimming and the other issues your having. All modern vehicles need full voltage and a strong battery to supply power for the electronics in these cars.
Test that battery !
Our 2013 Chrysler 200 with 40,000 miles on it. Electronic throttle control and traction control light and P2173 code. Took to dealer paid 95 dollars to scan for them to tell me it was throttle body wanted 600dollars to repair. I bought DORMAN throttle body 240 dollars. What I need to say. When I went to change throttle body found the bolt were loose and gasket was probably sucking air. It was simple to change and we need the car so I change anyway. Takes 10MM socket to tighten my bolts I would say be cautious tightening bolt not to break them. I did put thread lock on the bolts when I put new throttle body on. I also unhooked battery when I started. Before change Throttle body it took 5 blocks to get up to 35 MPH and that is all it would do. Runs great now, no problem as of now but it has only been 2 day but no sign of any problems as of this time.

Something I need to add now. The Code P2173 Tac Sys High Airflow has come back. Car is running ok, but I will be looking for something else. I will update when I find something. I am just recording this in the event someone else might have similar issues.

If you manually open the throttle body plate for any reason, there is a chance you can make it not function correctly. The tolerances are pretty tight on this and it's easy to make it have "play". This was/is a common problem with the LX platform Hemi (300, Charger, Challenger), people clean the TB and while cleaning it they open it with their fingers manually etc... I know cause I had to buy a TB myself because of that reason - but I bought used and it worked out fine.

I am not saying or guessing this is the problem, but just something to be aware of.

Also, I wouldn't clean it with anything but brake parts cleaner - and even that isn't recommended - in fact cleaning isn't recommended by Chrysler. TB/carb cleaner will also cause problems.

Code P2173 I have changed throttle body and sensor which is on unit. The lights on dash kept coming on and then would go off. The blend air motor started clicking under dash, I changed it 26 dollars. The horn sounded sick I changed both of them. My neighbor told me his car had a couple codes he said one of them was to do with engine run lean. He changed gas stations and lights stayed off. We changed gas station and the lights/codes have not appeared for a week. We took a trip yesterday. A little over 100 miles and engine light never came on. I do not understand but I want to put it out there if it may help someone. Changing gas station does not really cost extra and worth a try.

We changed gas station and after a couple weeks the lights quit coming on. We only fill up about every 2 weeks. It has been 7 months and lights have not come on. I have also found out it takes the car a little while to relearn the new throttle body I put in the car. Not sure if it was the relearn or changing gas station but it cost nothing to change gas stations. To go back to older post. I changed throttle body with a dorman because dealership said it might be 6 to 8 weeks before they could get one. After changing throttle body ran good for several days. Then the lights would come on again. We could shut the car off and back on and the lights would clear. After having the dealership relearn on computer the lights started coming on again. We changed gas stations and couple weeks later the lights on dash stopped coming on and have not come on for 7 months.

My car is the same model but has 88,000 miles. I replaced throttle body, I had the ECM reset but the traction light, throttle, and check engine light comes on like 5 minutes after driving the car starts idling really high and it jerks. What do you recommend doing??? How does changing gas stations solve the problem???
Welcome to the forums. What fault code are you getting? Was the t/body replaced recently enough that you still have a warranty? Dorman mentions a limited lifetime warranty?
The 2.4L t/body is different than the 3.6L t/body.
Others have had Dorman issues (2.4L):

If it's a "Dorman" as Eric says on "SouthMainAuto" (YouTube)... "There's your problem lady".. :)
It would also be good to check for existing stored codes... and a lot of newer cars require a "relearning procedure" when something like a throttle body is replaced.. It may be responding with codes after the engine goes into a "closed loop" after the engine warms up... Until that time it may run on default data stored in the ECM... When I repaired my wife's 2014 KIA Optima (was a salvage car) the throttle body was damaged and the car did not run right until the ECM relearned the new throttle body's settings...
Just a thought...

We had these issues with my wife's car. It lit the ESC and ETC lights and stored codes P2110 and P2118 intermittently. Weeks later it failed completely in limp mode, with flashing ETC and codes P2110, P2218, P2112, and P2173. Plastic gears in the throttle body were stripped. New Chrysler throttle body kit for $400 included a newly-redesigned throttle body with plastic removable cover over the gears; new stepper motor with different connector (single-row 6-pin instead of dual row staggered 6-pin); new wires to splice in, along with new connector to throttle body; crimp splices, shrink tubing and directions. There was no relearn procedure necessary, all has been well for over 2 months since. Verified on the old one that two mating gears both had 3 consecutive plastic teeth stripped off, and adjacent teeth gouged.

I’m having this issue with my 2013 now. What did you end up, doing? Thank you

Intake gaskets was what mine was spray a little bit of throttle body cleaner in can around the intake manifold and if engine shutters then you have a problem with your intake gasket remove intake manifold and replace the gasket and should fix u up
We never had the car go in creep mode after changing the throttle body but the lights would come back on after a while. I truly do not know why but the code did go away for good. One thing I notice was the lights came on after we got to about 3/4 or below on gas. If I filled it up and cleared the code it didn't come on till about 3/4. I read somewhere in my search's the fuel tank vent valve did not operate while tank was at a high level I can't remember what percent. We had no code for vent valve but I paid the 20 dollars and changed the gas tank vent valve solenoid cleared code and have not had the lights come back on for a couple years now. Sorry I can't say exactly what fixed it but the throttle body did fix the going into creep mode after days maybe a week the lights came back on. The dealer rebooted it twice and the fix did not last but a few days. I think it has been about 3 years since I change the vent valve solenoid and the only issue we have had was I changed the Thermostat assembly with the two thermostats in it because of leak and temperature issues. My wife and I love the car. 2013 Chrysler 200 touring .

2015 chrysler 200 with 144,000 miles and same thing started to happen, turns off at full stops and 3rd day we can only go 20mph. Waiting on our mechanic now. BTW just switched gas stations before this started idk if it has anything to do with it
Welcome to the forums. I think that the changing of gas stations is more of a coincidence than anything else.
The throttle body just controls air going into the engine.
Any fault codes? Is this a 4 or 6 cyl?

I have a 2012 Chrysler 200 limited v6. No codes come on when I take it to get scanned. Poor fuel economy. It stalls out when driving it atleast once every 2 weeks then steers right back up after an hour or 2. Engine light & lines with lightning in the middle flash but go off they don’t show up on the scan for codes. Any ideas what it could be??
There likely no active codes so nothing would come up on a scan but there will be stored codes (previously active and stored for 30-40 restarts). Have the vehicle rescanned specifically requesting any stored codes.
