Harsh 4th to 5th gear

Hi,

I have a 2015 200S 2.4. Since I purchased the vehicle with 18,000 miles, it's had a really hard shift from 4th to 5th gear. This generally only happens when the trans temp is at 165. It took several trips to the dealership for them to recognize there was a problem, which they finally did. So far they've flashed, re-flashed, replaced the valvebody, and ultimately the transmission with a rebuilt one. Now - they're once again, denying my concerns. I've reached out to Chrysler and they can't help unless there is a "diagnosis." Vehicle is at 42,000 miles now - about 10,000 on the current transmission. Has anyone else had the same problem and have any idea what might be going on here? Tips on getting the dealership to help?

I would like to jump in on this. If anyone finds a fix please let me know. I bought a 2016 200c 3.6 a few years ago, and the transmission is my only complaint so far. It slams into 5th if I get off the throttle at around 55mph at times. It also feels like it hesitates to shift at times on harsh acceleration. It acts like it has to think about it. The dealer refreshed it, but it is still the same.
Your quick connects at your transmission are probably leaking ever-so-slightly and your tranny is probably a couple liters low. I just went through this. The problem still exists too. Its just not as bad. The tranny never overheated but I believe I drove it low for a while before I realized it and wore it out a little quicker than it normally would have.

There is no dipstick on this transmission, and It seems like it would have been the dealers first check. Thanks for your input though. I'll look into it again.
Dipstick is easy to make. Any wetness on the outside of the case?
The Chrysler brand was actually bought out by Peugeot because UAW union heads were taking bribes from FIAT.
Yea, no.
Bribes, yes, but not the reason for the sale.
It was about merging costs, research and development costs are lower when shared among many platforms and vehicles. It's nothing more then corporate financial shangians. Same as when Daimler and Chrysler merged ( a partnership of equals ? ) then they moved on to FCA and now Stellantis.
Witam .Niedawno kupiłam w Polsce 200 s mam ten sam problem i trzeba z nim żyć .z 4 .na 5 bieg lekko stuknie nie jest to uciążliwe .auto rewelacja .Pozdrawiam Polka.

Welcome to the forum. A 2015 200 S with the 3.6L engine?
The latest software version helps give the smoothest shifting & best operation, if you have access to a dealership service facility. It can be a vast improvement in driving. :)
After the software update, have a Quicklearn & PROXI reset performed (if needed).

Thanks for sharing this information. I have owned the 2015 200c brand new since and recently have observed the 4-5 gear shift harsh jerk that happens only on certain occasions. I'm not sure, like others have mentioned here that it happens only at low temps. There are days when right after a cold start, leaving home the shift is so soft and, on some days, even at a 40-50 mph it gets really jerky shifting from 4-5.
Mine would bang from 4th into 5th after cresting a hill in a fairly heavily laden car. It felt like I was rear-ended, but there was no one behind me.
I had already had the software update done. This time I asked for a PROXI reset & a Quicklearn. After that was done a couple of years ago, it has shifted as smooth as butter ever since.
