The remote key to my car has stopped working. I kept walking around the parking lot, clicking and looking for my car. I finally found it but the key did not work so I had to take the cab home and get the manual key. How do I go about this? Call a locksmith?

#1 pull the metal key blade out of the remote
# unlock door as you would in the 90's (lol key lock on door)
# you can still start your car by holding the key fob right next to the push button start and push the button
the actual key fob does not need a battery to actually start your car if you hold it close to the button as i discussed this at the dealer "what do i do when battery died?"

You can find these blank keys with an empty shell on Ebay for reasonable prices. All you need to do is have the key cut at any Locksmith or hardware store and then transfer the remote module from your old key to the new one. Yes, the old membrane module works fine with the new button style key. If your key has a transponder chip, you need to swap that over as well. Here's a couple of examples on Ebay for under $10:
