Hey guys, I think this question may be answered somewhere but I can't find the answer and my local SOS isn't accepting calls, sorry in advance. I renewed my plate on the SOS website and during the renewal I selected Yes for new custom plate. Is my old plate automatically replaced with the new one on file? Can I just discard my old plate or should I try contacting SOS?
Thanks guys

If you have the new custom plate in your hands then change the plates... If you don't then keep the old plates UNTIL the new ones arrive... I don't know what a SOS is as we call them the BMV...When you get the new plates they will be registered to the car...

Hey man, sorry about the confusion. SOS here is Secretary of State where they handle all the vehicle registration and documents. So the new plate automatically renews all my documents in the system without further actions on my end? I can just dispose the old plate when it comes?
