We dropped off our 2015 200 C with a V6 for an oil change. They are telling me the oil filter housing is leaking and should be changed. They want like $900 to change it.

$900? Wow. I need to start getting into the business of replacing oil filter housings. I got it down to about 1.5 hours now I've done it so many times on my 200.

Nowhere does Chrysler recommend a 'gasket maker' when installing the Oil Filter Adapter (OFA). The instructions state the the o-rings are installed 'lubed' with clean engine oil only.

The OFA part has undergone a number of revisions. The latest & greatest revision is recommended.

I would prefer a Mopar part over a Dorman part. The majority of oil leaks are because of the o-rings. Many adapters are replaced needlessly.
If it is evident that the cooler itself is leaking, replace it.

I wanted to get the Dorman aluminum housing the last time mine failed, but it was on backorder with a 6-month availability estimate. Now I see there are all no-name brands on Amazon and ebay that probably leak as much as the no-name brand plastic ones. It's gotta be Dorman or nothing.
