Good morning folks, I started watching some YouTube videos about replacing the oil pan gasket on my 200 and found the process to be very simple. But some videos I watched had different opinions about whether an actual gasket is used versus just using RTV. So, being a basic home garage mechanic, I am now curious about which is better. Do I purchase the gasket or just use RTV?

Sometimes a rubber (or cork) pan gasket comes with the filter kit in aftermarket service kits.
I have had some of them leak.
The factory and dealer uses ATF-resistant RTV (Mopar 5010884AA or equivalent).
