I have a 2015 with the 8.4 NA with alpine w/sub. (3) 3.5 front dash, (2) 6x9 front doors (2) 3.5 back doors and (2) 6x9 and sub rear deck.

I've replace all but dash speaker, the rear deck 6x9 are 4ohm infinity kappa, no issue. I replace rear 3.5 with 2 way infinity reference and no issue. I installed the same as rear door in front doors 3 ohm 3 way 6x9 and can barely hear them. Infact the 3.5 in the rear doors are 50% louder. Is this a ohm issue? Or is the output from the factory amp different to the front and no pushing enough power?

I installed a second battery to power 2 10 inch sundown and need more highs, and the front door speakers sound better when stock.


Any input would help thank you.

You have to match the impedance in all of them. What you wrote is confusing:

They are not the same if the rears are 2-way and the front are 3-way. And you say that the front are 3-ohm, but don't state what the rears are.

Sorry, so the rear doors are 3 ohm infinity reference 2 way 3.5", the front doors are the same brand and model and ohm but 6x9 3way. The rear are 4 ohm 3 way infinity kappa and they sound amazing. Which is why I want to replace the other speakers. Now if the rear I installed are 4 ohm, shouldn't I have the same issue being that I removed the old 8 ohm speakers? I had a set of 4 ohm 6x9 I wired into the front doors and same issue.

So, if I have this right, the rear deck speakers are 4 ohm, but were 8 ohm from the factory? You can't mismatch impedance and then expect the same drive levels. It seems like the radio is being asked to drive more than it can handle.

In car audio systems that use external amps (both OEM and aftermarket), the amp is the most common cause of this type of problem, since the audio has to pass through it on the way to the speakers. ... Inspect for loose or disconnected input or output speaker wires. Test both inline and onboard fuses.
