You don't want to mess with this. I changed mine without a torque wrench. A year later the seals failed again. Whether or not it was a bad unit or not, who knows. But the second time around I used a torque wrench!

It’s made from cheap plastic and has small bolts going into aluminum. You absolutely want to have a quality torque wrench. Also I’ve seen many upper intakes cracked. I cracked and stripped out a few bolt holes in the plastic on my own intake after having the intake off a few times and torquing every single time. Now the upper intake bolts go in without power tools just until they’re snug.
