When transmission fluid should be replaced? For chrysler 200 2013, 2.4, 6 speed
According to manual at 120k miles
My dealer here in UAE recommended to change it every 30k miles?
It has been exchanged after 30k miles.
Now approaching 55k miles?
Should be exchanged or that's overdoing!!??
Climate here approaching 50 C degree in summer?
Thanks

In that type of climate, I could see how they'd suggest that. Heat is the enemy of all automatic transmissions. Anything you can do to keep one cooler and cleaner will likely extend the life of it. Is it overkill? Maybe. However, I'd rather spend an extra $200 on exchanging fluids over the life of the vehicle to decrease the probability of replacing a transmission.

Personally, I change my fluid about that often in mine. My vehicle is also not exposed to the temperatures yours is.

Use ATF+4 meeting Chrysler MS-9602 only. It is a synthetic (or semi-synthetic) fluid. In extreme operating conditions, the fluids may require more frequent maintenance intervals than in temperate climates and standard duties.

These transmissions require a teardown to remove the filter. Unless you have some spare change to cover that cost. Your best bet would be to have a flush done.

The 62TE filter is at the bottom of the valve body and easily accessible.
I agree that the ZF 9-spd filters wouldn't normally be serviced. It would use the ZF Lifeguard 8 fluid.
He has the 6-speed transaxle.
