Dear 200 Community Members,

Over the past year, there have been updates to your community environment that have introduced challenges in usability and performance. We sincerely apologize if you have been negatively impacted. Efforts to improve the technology, user interface, and site performance has revealed weaknesses in the platform and outdated software on the site. Once we started looking at how to address these issues, it became clear that we needed to determine how to fix the underlying problems.

We needed to improve user experience, site speed, and overall performance, all while providing a secure environment for you to interact with your community. For the past few months, we have been actively seeking a resolution to these issues.

We are excited to announce that we are upgrading your site!! We have been working with a design and product development team that has enhanced Xenforo software to provide a modern and much better-performing platform. Our goal is to deliver an experience that better fits the current and growing long term needs of your community.

The new platform is designed for efficiency, stability, and to be user-friendly across all devices, including mobile. More time can be spent engaging, sharing, and contributing to your favorite community no matter where you are!

This is just the first stage of the new platform and we look forward to hearing your feedback as we make regular and timely improvements.

Thank you for all your support!

Dear Community Members,

We have posted previous messages announcing a new platform coming to your community that will provide a better experience, faster page speed and work seamlessly across all devices, including mobile. We are excited to announce that 200forums.com will be migrated to our new platform on Monday, September 16th. The site will be in maintenance mode and in read-only while the migration is happening. This is expected site behavior as we move all the archived content over to the new sites. There should be no change in the content within your profile. All thread content will also be migrated to the new site. Your community may look a little different but all of the important information will still be there!

If for any reason there is a change of date, we will keep you updated on an alternative rollout schedule for the site migration. We look forward to your feedback on the new experience.

We appreciate your support!

Oh GOD help us....
I have just witnessed the shift from VBulletin to "Xenforo software" at kia-forums.com and it wasn't smooth nor positive...
Lot's of past features were missing (and many are STILL missing)... It is nowhere near as friendly or intuitive as VB for your members... Try to find "New Posts" or "Today's Posts" ... Try to find posters profiles... I am a Super Moderator on kia-forums and one of my fellow moderators is now having to add this to every new member's posts..

"
Using the below link, please add location and vehicle (year & model) to your signature
With the recent forum platform change, the location and vehicle details in your profile no longer show in each post.
eg.
USA
2019 Sportage 2.7L V6 SX turbo AWD

At least run a trial version beside the VB version to get feedback before going totally online...

The Charger forums just went to this xenoforo junk and it is crap..no search function, it is sized to fit smart phones not PC monitors: there is 2.5" to 3" of blank space on each side (or adds if you don't have an add blocker) the text is all jammed into the center..miserable experience. About 1/3 of the members have quit the site because of the "upgrade".

Take a five minute look at this site to see what we're in for: https://www.chargerforums.com/index.php?page=active_topics

I am reminded here about the old saying .... If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I don't know the reasoning behind this proposed improvement but I for one am quite happy with the current site as is.

As the Admin's of the site of course you are entitled to do whatever you think is best but I just thought I would just throw in my two cents worth ....

VBulletin is no longer supported...That is why the switch... They need to run old and new software parallel to each other... until they get things worked out... (debugged)... When this new software does show up you need to click on the "broken arrow" on the top right to locate new/current posts/threads... The search is located in the sub-forums...At least that is where they are located on kia-forums.com...
This software is no where near as intuitive as VBuiletin...
kia-forums LOST many members due to frustration trying to navigate the "new" forum software...

When the move does come guys, there is going to be a learning curve, but in the end it's still just forum software. Once you are good at one form of forum, you'll find it's easier to learn a new one then you think. Buttons still do the same things, but are in different spots.

We are also going to have a lot more control over the new software. It's a version of Xenforo that we had a direct hand in creating especially for us.

Now to open some of the links at the top at least on Chrome, you have to right click on them and open as a new Tab. If you directly click on them they won't open.

The Chrysler convertible forum switched software some time back. They went with tapatalk and it works OK. I looked at that link to the Challenger forum and it looked pretty bad on my laptop. The photos were all distorted. Here's a link to the Chrysler convertible forum just so you can see what it looks like....
