After having to unfortunately use it for flat tire along I-94 in Michigan notorious pothole laden hwys it got me to thinking.
What safety equipment does everyone carry in their cars?
I carry an air compressor/blower combo that can be powered by battery, 12 v or 110v
Basic socket and wrench set
12ft 8ga jumper cables
case of 3 reflective triangles
12 LED lights with numerous flash patterns including SOS
hi-vis vest and gloves
Battery powered flood/spot light
in the winter I add blankets collapsible shovel and road salt a few mre's lol and some water

That won't help you one bit if you break down some cold winter night, with blowing snow and miles from civilization.

I commend the OP for thinking ahead and being prepared.

I know what you're thinking: "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do you, punk?

Carrying a gun in my car is a risk I am not willing to take.
A .44 mag ... ? Overkill.
I would use my 2 ton Durango as a ram before I pull a handgun.

Hey, I'm new on this forum, but I couldn't resist chiming in on this old thread. I totally feel you on the pothole situation - they're the worst! As for safety equipment, I carry a lot of the basics like a spare tire, jack, and tire iron. But I also like to be extra prepared with some unconventional gear. Have you ever heard of emf protective clothing? It might sound a bit out there, but it can actually protect you from harmful electromagnetic fields. It's especially handy if you spend a lot of time in your car or around electronics. Other than that, I always have a first aid kit, a flashlight, and some snacks on hand.
Just came across this. I have a fire extinguisher, jumper cables, air compressor, tire plug kit, and a can of fix-a-flat to use as a last resort.
