Hello 200 Forum
I finally removed the right head and looked at the pistons and head. Once I cleaned them up I noticed that each of the pistons "valve well area" has a depression. (see pictures)

My question is: is that factory normal pistons design or is that the sign of the valves smashing into the piston head on the outside edge? (timing chain jumped 2-3 links hence disassembly)

If thats a normal factory piston design, do they from the photos look like I can reuse them? I understand its only a picture, but I will remove the valves and see which ones are bent and go from there.

Thank you for you time and input

sincerely
mike

Ok thank you 200_S_AWD for taking the time and your help I'll do a water test and show results
Also, the front left cylinder head has had problems on the 3.6L engine and the Chrysler 200 is a 2011 the first year they came out, my question is should I try to repair the existing heads (especially the left one) or just get a different head because the issues Chrysler has had with those years with valve guides and seals, etc?

Sincerely
Mike

Ok thannk you 200_S_AWD
My hope is that I can salvage the heads. Im doing a gravity leak down test with diesel fuel its been a few hours and no leaking, so does that mean the valve seats on this head are good?

Q.Can some valves still be bent? Im planning on removing all the valves and inspection each one.
Q. Is putting the valves on a drill and spinning a reliable way of testing for straightness?
or whats the best way you recommend? (Ill probably get new valves)
Also, today I removed the left head and noticed a ton of carbon in the cylinders especially #2&#4 not sure whats the issue, rings? Valve seals bad? or ? (see pictures right head below)

Thank you all for your feedback
Sincerely
mike
