Would you order this system?

I ordered my pipe from a company that made it the length I needed. A standard mandrel bent 90 degree aluminum pipe wasn't long enough to reach the air filter area. (trust me, I bought many different pipes to try and get one that fit, but didn't).

If you want to make one yourself...go for it. Once you spend time making a template, then finding the right thickness of metal, then cut it out, bend it to shape and assemble it, test fit it, then paint it, make a mounting bracket, attach weather stripping, find an aluminum pipe, make holes, put grommets in those holes, attach a port for the breather, cut rubber hose for that to attach to, pack it up in a box for shipping, how much is your time worth?

Time spent/Labor= $$$???

Add all these parts I use up:

K&N filter or AEM
Aluminum Pipe (long enough to reach or you'll have to go the 2 piece route)
Rubber Coupler
2 #48 hose clamps
2 grommets (iat & Breather)
Step Drill bit for making holes (assuming you have a drill)
1 ft of oil resistant 5/8" rubber hose
1 5/8" heater hose connector tube (for breather tube)
Sheet metal 22 guage steel
Paint
rivets (assuming you have a rivet tool)
metal cutting disc (assuming you have a cutting tool)
weather stripping
Hole saw for cutting hole in sheet metal for air filter to attach to pipe
Aluminum flat bar to make a bracket
various drill bits
sand paper
Shipping supplies (tape, box, bubble wrap, etc)

Add all that up, then decide how much your time is worth, how long it takes to make everything. Then package it in a box for shipping.

I do have all those tools + a garage etc... however not sure why I would need shipping supplies since I would be making it for myself (but I do have access to them).

The time factor you make a very good point as unfortunately that is one resource I do not have plenty of.

Thanks. This helps.

Because I am not making these all for myself, I make them for whoever wants one and shipping supplies cost $$$

OK I see - I did ask: "Why should I purchase this from you if I can go purchase the parts and make it myself?"

What I meant to ask is "Why should I purchase this from you if I can go purchase the parts and make it for myself?"

I gotta fund my PayPal account - I haven't used it in a long time.

Does anyone know anything about anything ? Anyone with a v6 200 will know how hot intake temp get under the hood. Cooler intake temps equal less knock more timing advance etc. car will overall run. Better as well. The stock setup on my 200s awd gets so hot it literally feels like plastic factory box is about to melt. So if you somehow can provide the weather stripping for a air tight seal. Keeping the intake housing completely seperate from the engine cabin. I'm in. I will send you PayPal money anytime for your kit. Message me and let me know 973-713-9188

I can also show anyone interested how to install hid headlights and fog lights without any error lights or turning off. Basically any problems without those crazy expensive kits from retro fit source or whatever their name is I keep seeing here. And no it does not need to be canbus hid ballasts.

PITT,

Nice video! I can't tell from it, but the single pipe you show in the video, is that supposed to replace the factory resonator? Also is it possible to get a black coupler? Otherwise I am ready to purchase!

I actually have just ONE black coupler, and you have first dibs on it. The tube replaces the factory resonator. The factory resonator and rubber hose rob your engine of torque. Go to my YouTube channel for a dyno video of this intake proving the loss of torque.

BOOM purchased.

I will post pics of my install with the AEM filter hopefully later today if anyone is interested.

OK I think since it's a slightly different topic (no longer "would I buy this" but "I bought this and..." ) I will post in a new thread. When I posted, I wasn't home but I was notified it was delivered at my house.
